"Bro i think God must be tired of seeing me struggle and continue to fall again and again into this mess. I am tired of fighting, why can't this go away once and for all? I'm disgusted at the things i do and watch- i am sure God is so disappointed in me. I am sure He is no longer listening to my prayers!"
Heb 4:14-16: "Since we have such a great high priest who has ascended to heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us make sure we hold on to what we say we believe. For the high priest we have isn't one who doesn't sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in all the ways we are, but did not sin. So we should go confidently to God on his throne of grace so we can receive mercy, and discover grace to help us when we really need it." FBV
Heb 2:14-18: "Because the children share flesh and blood in common, he shared in this in the same way so that through death he could destroy the one that had the power of death— the devil— and free everyone who through fear of death were enslaved all their lives. Of course it's not angels he's concerned about; he's concerned to help the children of Abraham. That's why it was necessary for him to become like his brothers in everything, so that he could become a merciful and trustworthy high priest in the things of God, to forgive his people's sins. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted." FBV
God KNOWS that your struggle with sexual temptation is real. He KNOWS its difficult for you to resist. Guess what? He is patient with your recovery process and He will NEVER give up on you!
Why is that?
Jesus the Son of God became human and in his humanity experienced every pressure to sin however he never gave in to temptation. This means that he understands how it must feel to be in your shoes to have all that pressure on you. He promises to give you strength in your weakest moments.
Do not give up, God understands.
Prov 24:16: "Those who do right may fall down seven times, and still get up again; but the wicked are brought down by disaster." FBV
