WHY WE HAVE TO FIGHT THIS TOGETHER.

 

Eph 5:3,5: "Do not let sex sins or anything sinful be even talked about among those who belong to Christ. Do not always want everything. … Be sure of this! No person who does sex sins or who is not pure will have any part in the holy nation of Christ and of God. The same is true for the person who always wants what other people have. This becomes a god to him." NLV

If there is one area that many Christians struggle with it is sexual behaviour. While it is often easy to identify the wrongs that other sinners do it is often difficult to know if a person is struggling with sex as sexuality is a private affair. We often find it easy to speak ill of a drunkard visibly staggering his way up the streets- the effects of alcohol are clearly seen by all. However its quite easy to put up an appearance of a devout Christian who looks prim and proper whenever we dress up to attend church service. We can sing melodiously, preach passionately and offer heart moving prayers yet when we go back home we sadly come face to face with our reality. Nobody knows that behind the smiles, the singing , preaching and praying is a fierce battle with sex sins. When we are alone and no one is watching we are a mess.

We dress up to go to church and give a theatrical perfomance because we are AFRAID that someone will find out the real truth about us.

We fear that when this truth is discovered people will stop loving us and we will sink deep in shame. To avoid this we hide the truth about ourselves and continue pretending like everything is "O.K"

This is the elephant within our church walls.
